- Developing applied studies in the fields of environmental science, environmental engineering and research for sustainable development;

- Providing services relative to environmental impact assessment (EIA) for investment projects of the Government, international organizations, domestic and overseas companies; providing services of strategic environmental assessment (SEA) for planning, plans, and programs of the Government, ministries, sector administrations and local authorities;
- Conducting environmental monitoring for projects, ministries, sectors, localities and international projects;
- Preparing environmental planning for localities, sectors and fields;
- Implementing scientific projects and studies relative to environment and sustainable development that are appointed by the Government, provinces, cities, ministries, sector administrations, and international organizations;
- Training in environmental science and engineering; rendering services relative to environmental scientific and engineering information and transfer of environmental technologies.
- Involving in domestic and overseas cooperation in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development.
