Vietnam's natural environment is diverse and beautiful in some localities 10/2023 - 04/2025.

Ako Dhong village, Tan Loi ward, Buon Ma Thuot city, after more than 60 years of establishment, has shaped its identity and become the tourist center of Buon Ma Thuot. This place is considered one of the most beautiful villages in the Central Highlands.

It is the second-most prominent mountain in Europe, after Mount Elbrus, and the 11th most prominent mountain summit in the world.

In 2022 VESDEC did not obtained many projects, but only focus on implementing some important ones below.

1. Introduction

The Mekong Delta, located at the lower end of the Mekong River Basin, has an area of ​​43,266 km², including 2,450 km² of water surface of rivers and canals, and a population of 17,273,630 people (2019), accounting for 13.06% in terms of area and 17.94% of the population of Vietnam.

In 2021, as many companies in Vietnam, the Institute of Environmental Science and Development (VESDEC) has faced great difficulties in its business, due to the Covid pandemic. Because to ensure the health of its experts and staffs, VESDEC had to refuse many projects consisted field survey or public consultation, so only some important projects below have been implemented.

1. Summary of Necessity and Circumstances of the Regional Plan
Resolution 120 / NQ-CP dated 17/11/2017 of the Government on Sustainable Development of the Mekong River Delta (Mekong Delta ) and  climate change adaptation (CC) clearly states: “Mekong Delta is a large land occupied 12% of the national area, 19% of the national population, has advantages in the development of agriculture, food industry, tourism, and renewable energy; it is the largest agricultural production center of Vietnam, contributing 50% of rice output, 65% of aquaculture production and 70% of fruits of the country; 95% of rice for export and 60% of fish for export; having a convenient position in trade with ASEAN countries and the Mekong Sub-Region ...

Abstract
The Mekong River Delta (MD) with an area of 40,548 km² and a population of over 17.5 mil inhabitants, is the main food production region of Vietnam. In the MD there many big rivers and hundreds creeks and canals, creating favourable conditions for growth of biological resource, agriculture, fishery, waterway transport and human activities. However, this region is facing and will be challenged by the increased water pollution caused by the natural factors: high water flow in the rainy season, low flow and high salinity intrusion in the dry season; high acidity at acid sulfate soils areas and by human activities in water use, hydroelectric, industry, agriculture, aquaculture, waterway transport development f-rom the upstream countries and in the Delta, changed hydrological regime and cre-ated great amount of many types of wastes, polluting the water environment and damaging ecological resource.
 

Vietnam is endowed  with rich potential of hyd-ropower (HP) with more than 35,000  MW of total generation capacity, of which small HP is around 4,000 MW. The renewable energy (RE) is strongly promoted by the Government of Vietnam as a measure to ensure the country’s energy security, affordability and sustainability as   well as battle the climate change. A number of policies, regulations have been  issued  by the Government to promote RE.
